Similar to the VISTA rollout looks like I should wait for a Windows 7 Service Pack before seriously considering using the O/S. Windows 7 isn't stable yet, at least not on the hardware (which I would call standard) I am using. The System Diagnostics Report doesn't show any problems. I have read numerous posts concerning this class of symptom and haven't come across a solution that works yet. I see a few warnings in the Diagnostics-Performance event log about delays during startup or standby resume but these look innocuous. I can't recreate the delays when using Firefox or Chrome. If I navigate to the CNN site ( using IE 8 and quickly move my mouse pointer across any of the dynamic components of the page (tabs along the top as an example) the mouse will intermittently freeze for short periods of time (a second or less). This is definately an issue with Windows 7.
I have another computer from Dell that runs VISTA (same internal network) on which I don't see these problems. If I run XP on the same PC I don't see the problem. I notice the freezing most when browsing the Internet. The problem I am experiencing is the mouse will freeze or pause intermittently.
